Alberta List of great Summer Camps ~ Autism camps of all kinds many different areas . From little ones and teens Hearts-in-Action ~ Hearts in Action is Edmonton’s unique summer day camp for children, youth and young adults with special needs.Each day a structured routine is offered where children participate in recreation and motor development, essential life skills and expressive arts activities throughout the day within their designated age group.Youth and young adults will have an opportunity to develop independence, decision making and self-confidence while exploring their own life’s vision. Kitchen kids ~ is a weekly program where kids from 8-14 learn to cook a variety of recipes and enjoy great food in a fun environment. In the hands-on classes, participants will create a shopping list and go on a supervised trip to a store to purchase ingredients. They then prepare recipes individualized to their skill level. Older kids with culinary experience may register as mentors. You can find more about this program Between Friends ~ provides quality social and recreational opportunities in an accepting environment, focusing on children and young adults with disabilities. Easter Seals ~ Our programs provide vital mobility and accessibility equipment based on need - regardless of age, disease or disability. We're all about enhancing the quality of life, self-esteem and self determination of Albertans with disabilities and special needs. Easter Seals Camp Horizon ~provides children and adults with disabilities and special needs life-changing outdoor experiences. Camp is located in Alberta's beautiful Kananaskis Country.This fully accessible facility is equipped with a giant swing, swimming pool, archery range, climbing and traverse walls, high and low ropes, obstacle courses and comfortable lodges. Staff, Counsellors, Registered Nurses and program staff must meet the physical and emotional needs of children and adults with disabilities or special needs are highly-trained.
